Lack of financial backing scuttles Stork's plan to open in Oakland Park

OAKLAND PARK — Stork's arrival in the heart of the city's emerging culinary arts district turned out to be a premature delivery. Despite the bistro and bakery's exterior sign and nearly completed interior, the company says it will not be opening next to the Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Station because financial backing for the store fell through. Stork's will continue to operate its locations in Wilton Manors and at the Lauderdale Tennis Club.
