Nationwide, the multi-agency sweep in 76 cities resulted in 105 sexually exploited children being rescued and 150 suspected pimps being arrested, according to FBI headquarters.
In San Diego County, the girls, ranging from 14 to 17 years old, were rescued in Chula Vista, San Diego and Oceanside.
Along with the girls and suspected pimps, 46 individuals were arrested for soliciting prostitution and 50 suspected adult prostitutes were arrested or cited, also in San Diego County. Much of the prostitution involved Internet postings to solicit johns.
The four-day sweep ended Sunday night. It was the seventh and largest such action, the FBI said.
"Child prostitution remains a persistent threat to children across America," said Ron Hosko, assistant director of the FBI's criminal investigative division.
