Dear Diana: Jason's Deli was happy to share its recipe, which we've adapted below.

Jason's Deli

Jason's Deli's chicken chili

1 hour. Makes 1 quart

1/4 cup diced onion, ¾-inch dice

1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil

2 tablespoons chopped garlic

1/4 cup diced red bell pepper, ¼-inch dice

2 tablespoons flour

1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

1 tablespoon chili powder

2 teaspoons cumin

1 cup canned diced tomatoes

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup canned dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

1 tablespoon diced jalapeño pepper, ¼-inch dice

1 1/2 teaspoons chopped cilantro
