Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

A 53/f says she found some clothing in a parking lot in the 800 block of N. Carriage. That clothing was submitted to police as found property.
Watch that wheel!
A 52/m says he was driving on Kellogg when another car lost a wheel. That wheel rolled into his lane and he was not able to avoid hitting it. The wheel struck the front end of his car. Oddly, there’s no mention of whether police tracked down the three-wheeled vehicle.
Robbed in her driveway…
A 36/f says she was standing in her driveway when she was robbed by an unknown man who held a knife to her throat. The man then took money out of her pocket and took off. The woman was not hurt.
A 37/f says someone accessed her email account and transferred money from her bank to their bank. The amount is not listed.
Drugs will get you every time…
A 50/f called police after finding a man staying in a room at a motel that was not rented to him. Police found the guy in the room along with some drug paraphernalia. The motel worker didn’t want to prosecute on the trespass, burglary or theft charges...but police still arrested the man for having the drug paraphernalia.
Someone called police to report seeing someone being too rough with a young girl in the 400 block of S. Main. According to the report, the person picked her up by her arm, spanked her four or five times and put the child into a van roughly by swinging the child into a carseat that was on the opposite side of the vehicle. The person then left on Market Street.
A 48/m says someone struck him on the head with a guitar in the 400 block of E. 2nd N. The victim needed staples to close a 5-6” laceration. The report doesn’t mention anything about arrests.
Bus stop creep…
A woman called police to say that her daughter was approached by a man while walking to the bus stop at S. Market and Orme. She says the man commented about her jeans and buttocks, then grabbed her arm and pulled her toward him. The girl elbowed the man and was able to get away. She got on the bus and called her mother. The girl was not hurt. Police have not found the man. The girl’s age is not listed.
Pools of blood…
A 34/m called police after finding several small puddles of unknown blood on his porch. Police swabbed and photographed the stains. No word on where it came from.
A 44/f says her neighbor came into her backyard and was taking pictures of her. She says it was a violation of a Protection from Stalking order she had against him. Police verified the PFS and arrested the man for violating it.
