Strawberry Puree Truck Rolls Over

It’s strawberry fields for Tuesday morning in Roseville after a truck carrying buckets of the fruit puree overturned.

Just before midnight, a semi truck took the northbound ramp from I-80 to Highway 65 in Roseville too fast and tipped over onto the embankment.

The driver was not hurt, but the 43,000 pounds of strawberry puree dumped out of the truck. One lane had to be closed for part of the morning commute so emergency crews could remove the truck.

The puree was in white plastic containers, and remained frozen for most of the morning.

However, as crews arrived to clean up the mess around 8 a.m., the fruit had melted and was creating quite a mess.

Everything was cleaned up by 10 a.m.
