Sacramento Mountain Lions Release 2011 Season Schedule

The Sacramento Mountain Lions have released their game schedule for the United Football League 2011 season.

In week one, starting Sept. 17, the Mountain Lions will face off against 2009 and 2010 UFL champions Las Vegas Locos at Hornet Stadium. The Locos won both of their games in Northern California last season. This will be the first time the Mountain Lions have opened a season at home.

The following week is a bye week, with the Omaha Nighthawks travelling to Sacramento the week after. That game will be the first-ever coaching meeting between Omaha’s Joe Moglia and Sacramento’s Dennis Green.

The Mountain Lion’s first away game of the season will be against the Virginia Destroyers at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The Destroyers will head to Sacramento the following week for the Mountain Lions final home game of the season.

The Mountain Lions will travel to Las Vegas and Omaha for weeks 6 and 7.

The UFL suspended operations for the Hartford Colonials after the 2010 season, bringing the number of active teams down to four.

The 2011 championship game is scheduled to take place November 4 or 5.
