A recent graduate of University of the Pacific is among those injured in Friday morning's Aurora, Colo. movie theater shooting.

The Stockton school confirmed Friday afternoon that Petra Anderson graduated in May as a composition major in the school’s Conservatory of Music. The school said that Petra is in surgery in Aurora.

Anderson, a native of Colorado, is among the 59 people that were injured when alleged gunman James Holmes opened fire during a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Twelve people are confirmed dead.

UOP Vice President for Student Life Elizabeth Griego said in a statement to the media that Anderson’s mother says doctors are “hopeful” that she will recover from her injuries.
