Two children have been shot at a middle school in Littleton, Colorado near the site of the infamous Columbine High School shooting.

According to an eyewitness speaking with FOX40 affiliate KDVR-TV in Colorado, a man with blond hair wearing a black hat and jacket shot two students outside Deer Creek Middle School.

One student was wounded in the chest, while another was wounded in the arm. Medical officials say their injuries are non-life threatening.

The man was taken into custody by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. His connection with the students and his identity are not immediately known.

Deerk Creek Middle School is about three miles away from Columbine High School, where the infamous Columbine High massacre took place over a decade ago. Fifteen people died in the Columbine High shooting, including twelve students, one teacher and the two perpetrators, who were themselves fellow students.
