Woman Shot and Killed at Sacramento Gas Station
A woman was shot and killed at a South Sacramento gas station early Saturday morning.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is investigating the murder of a 26-year-old woman that was shot and killed at the Fastrip gas station on the corner of Florin Rd. and Power Inn Rd. Deputies responded to a shooting at 2:26 a.m. in the area of Blackhawk Dr. and Palmer House Dr. They found two 26-year-old women in a gold sedan and the driver had been shot. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the car was not injured, officials said.

Investigators learned the victim drove from the Fastrip gas station after being shot there. There was a crowd of about 50-70 people when someone fired several gunshots from the crowd for an unknown reason and the victim while sitting in her car was struck. The crowd dispersed, but deputies were able to detain 5 people for questioning, but they are not considered suspects, officials said.

Sheriff's Homicide investigators have not established a motive for the murder and it is unclear if the 26-year-old woman who was shot was the intended target.
