Possible Break in 18-Year Cold Case
Detectives are investigating a possible break in the 18-year disappearance of Jaycee Lee Dugard.

A source with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department confirmed to FOX40 that a woman walked into a Bay Area police office Wednesday on an unrelated case and identified herself as Dugard, the kidnapping victim from 1991.

Dugard was believed to have been abducted from outside her home in South Lake Tahoe as she walked to the bus stop on the morning of June 10, 1991.

Dugard's stepfather reported seeing a man and a woman in a two-tone, late model sedan make a U turn near the home. The woman reportedly grabbed Dugard and pulled her in the car.

Sources tell us the woman claiming to be Dugard is being questioned. They will likely do a DNA test to confirm her claims.

There are reports the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference Thursday morning. Stay with FOX40.com for the latest updates.
