National Weather Service Confirms Third Tornado

The National Weather Service has confirmed a third tornado touched down in Northern California Wednesday.

The tornado was near Table Mountain road and Highway 70 north of Oroville. It’s tentatively being labeled an EF1, which has winds between 86 and 110 miles per hour.

The first tornado roughly followed a path from Willows, which is south of Durham, to north of Highway 99/Highway 70 intersection. The second followed a path that began south of Hamilton City, passed south of Chico and headed toward Paradise.

There have been five tornadoes confirmed in Northern California in the last six months. The last EF1 was near Latrobe in El Dorado County in November 2010, the rest have been EF0’s.
