A father was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail this week accused in the 2006 death of his daughter.
In August, 2006, 14-year-old Alycia Mesiti disappeared from her Ceres home, her father told investigators she ran away.
Alycia’s case went cold until 2009, when a new investigations supervisor asked for new interviews in the case. Cadaver dogs were sent to the old Mesiti home. The teen’s body was found buried in the backyard.
Her father, Mark Edward Mesiti and his girlfriend moved to Southern California shortly after the disappearance.
After the body was found, Los Angeles cops went to talk to Mesiti at his new home, and arrested him for making meth. He was convicted and was in prison when officers arrested him for the death of Alycia.
