Benefit Concert Held for Aurora Shooting Victim

A benefit concert was held Thursday night at Stockton’s University of the Pacific for a victim of the Aurora, Colo. movie theater mass shooting, and recent graduate of the school.

Petra Anderson was shot in the arm and head July 20 when a man allegedly opened fire on the audience at a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises.”

With surgery, doctors were able to safe Petra’s life and she is now on her way to a full recovery.

“Despite Petra’s miraculous recovery,” the event’s Facebook page said, “the costs of her surgery, hospital care and rehabilitation are a great financial burden.”

Petra’s family is not only facing this challenge; Kim Anderson, Petra’s mother, died from cancer Aug. 26.
