There were many disturbing images last year from Arden Fair Mall. Shoppers left their pets inside hot cars, as they tooled around inside the air conditioned mall.
Authorities said one dog was left inside an SUV for four hours. It got up to 97 degress inside and eventually got the owner a $200 ticket.
For one German Shepherd, it got so hot, it tried to bite its way out of a car.
"People say, 'I love my dog.' They treat it like a child," one animal control officer said.
But you wouldn't leave your child inside the car while you shopped, would you?
Mall security and animal control take these incidents very serioiusly.
"A dog in a hot car is a priority call," said Supervisor Gina Knepp.
