TUSTIN, Calif. (KTLA) -- Authorities are searching for suspects after a jeweler was followed home from Los Angeles' Jewelry District to Orange County, some 30 miles, and then robbed of about a half a million dollars worth of merchandise.
The robbery was reported around 10:45 p.m. Thursday in Tustin.
The jeweler had just pulled up to his gated community when he was confronted by the suspects.
The man tried to get away but ended up crashing into the security gate.
The suspects reportedly took off with $250,000 worth of jewelry.
The jeweler was not badly injured in the ordeal.
