HERMOSA BEACH -- Actor Jon Cryer's ex-wife is free on bail after being arrested on suspicion of child abuse in connection with her 2-year-old son.
Sarah Louise Trigger, 40, of Hermosa Beach, was arrested about 8 a.m.
Thursday and released about 13 hours later on $100,000 bail, according to the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.
Trigger is separated from a man with whom she has a 2-year-old son, who
is the alleged child-abuse victim, said Hermosa Beach police Detective Mick
Police went to that man's home in Redondo Beach late Wednesday after the
man reported that his 2-year-old son had a neck injury, Gaglia said.
Officers contacted the county Department of Children and Family Services
and went to Trigger's Hermosa Beach home as part of their investigation,
"Upon arrival ... detectives spoke to Trigger, who gave conflicting
stories about the child's injury," Gaglia said in a statement.
"Trigger alleged that the injury was an `accident,' and did not give
clear details regarding the incident," Gaglia said.
Police then arrested her.
Trigger is the former wife of Cryer, the co-star of "Two and a Half
Men," and she has custody of their 9-year-old son. But their son was not at
Trigger's home when the alleged abuse occurred, Gaglia said.
