President Obama's Star-studded Fundraisers Expected to Snarl Traffic
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- President Barack Obama arrived in the Southland on Sunday afternoon for a series of fundraisers and drivers were warned to expect traffic delays across town.

Air Force One touched down at Los Angeles International Airport at 1:10 p.m., and the president transferred to Marine One, the presidential helicopter.

Mr. Obama will stay in town through Monday morning, according to a statement from LAPD.

His motorcade moved through the Westside then to downtown Los Angeles in the evening, leading to closures along the 10 Freeway.

Obama started his evening at an exclusive reception with former President Bill Clinton at a private home in Century City. The campaign characterized it as a thank-you event with longtime supporters.

The president later hosted at a star-studded fundraising concert at Nokia Theater featuring the likes of Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson and Katy Perry.

George Clooney, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Antonio Mayor and rising Democratic figure Julian Castro were also expected to deliver remarks.

Six-thousand tickets were sold for the event, beginning at $250 each, though some less pricy $44 tickets were also available.

Late Sunday night, the president also attended a fundraising dinner for 150 guests at Ritz Carlton's WP24 by Wolfgang Puck. Tickets cost $25,000 per person, with the money going to Obama's reelection fund and the Democratic National Committee.

The events were expected to add an additional $5 million to Obama's re-election funds. On Saturday, his campaign announced that it raised $181 million in September, a sum just shy of what it raised in July and August combined.
