The four boys were hit while they were standing on the northeast corner of Golden and Valencia around 2:30 Monday when the driver of a Toyota Prius drove up a curb after colliding with another vehicle.
The Prius struck all four children, trapping one under the car.
Firefighters used airbags to lift the car off the trapped 12-year old and took him to UCI Medical Center in Orange, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown said.
The boy suffered severe fractures to his legs, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening, Placentia police Sgt. Scott Millsap of the traffic bureau said.
A second 12-year-old was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, while a 7-year-old was taken to Placentia-Linda Hospital in Placentia, Placentia police Lt. Eric Pointe.
Both are those boys are in good condition.
The fourth child, an 11-year-old boy, was released to his parents.
Police say it appears a Toyota Sienna traveling southbound on Valencia made a left turn in front of the Prius, which was traveling northbound on Valencia.
They believe the Sienna struck the Prius, which continued onto the sidewalk as the Sienna remained in the intersection.
The accident is still under investigation.
