Pasadena Student Arrested for Bringing Fake Gun to School
PASADENA, Calif. (KTLA) -- Police arrested a high school student Tuesday after he allegedly showed up to class with a fake gun tucked in his waistband.

Pasadena police responded about 9:45 a.m. to John Muir High School to a report of a student with a gun. A teacher's aid alerted school security when she saw the 16-year-old student with the gun in his waistband, police officials said.

School authorities called police and kept students in their classroom until officers arrived.

Police found the boy, an 11-grade student, and found out the gun was a replica Airsoft pistol resembling a black semi-automatic handgun. The officers seized it and arrested the boy on suspicion of bringing a replica handgun on a school campus.

The boy was later released to his parents.

Police will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
