Big Rig Overturns on 5 Freeway Spilling Hundreds of Grapefruits
CASTAIC, Calif. (KTLA) -- It was a tight squeeze for drivers on the 5 Freeway in Castaic Wednesday morning after a big rig hauling grapefruits overturned, spilling fruit onto the roadway.

The accident was reported just before 2 a.m. at Parker Road.

The truck struck the center divider on the southbound side and overturned, spilling hundreds of grapefruits onto the northbound side.

Two left lanes on each side of the freeway were shut down for more than 3 hours while crews worked to clear the scene. Traffic was not severely impacted by the closures.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

It was not immediately known what caused the driver to lose control.
