Badge, Loaded Guns Taken from O.C. Sheriff's Deputy's Car
LA MIRADA -- Police are searching for a thief who broke into an Orange County Sheriff's deputy's car and got away with a duffle bag containing his badge, and two loaded guns.

It happened in the parking lot of "Clearman's North Woods Inn" at 14305 Firestone Boulevard Wednesday night while two deputies were eating inside, said Sgt. R. Maybury of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department who is investigating the case.

The crime is believed to have occurred sometime between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Maybury said the vehicle was locked when the items, including two Glock handguns, and the deputy's badge were taken.

It's unclear if any other items were taken from the car, or how the suspect, or suspects, broke into the vehicle. The parking lot was not equipped with surveillance cameras.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Norwalk station at 562-863-8711.
