Teen Sets Off Bombs He Learned To Make on YouTube
IONE, Calif. -- A teenage boy is facing felony charges after setting off three homemade bombs in a public place, according to police.

The unidentified 14-year-old told police he was trying to impress friends when he ignited the bombs made from common household supplies on a street corner near downtown Ione.

The boy apparently learned to make the bomb from a video he watched on YouTube.

Although no one was hurt, Ione Police said the blasts were powerful enough to seriously injure someone.

Local authorities are pursuing 3 felony charges against the teen.

The case has been sent to the county district attorney.

The city of Ione is located near Sacramento.
