Hundreds Line Up for 'Idol' Auditions at Dodger Stadium
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- The search for the next American Idol kicked off at the Dodger Stadium on Thursday, and hundreds of people lined up for their shot at stardom.

Los Angeles is the first stop for auditions for the show's 12th season.

L.A. is where the Idol finalists live while competing for the title, and it's also the hometown of several successful Idol stars, including Katharine McPhee and Adam Lambert.

"Every year we do the show, it seems like the auditions start again quickly," host Ryan Seacrest said, "Because they're capitalizing on the excitement from the finale."

In order to audition, you had to register on either Tuesday, June 5 or Wednesday, June 6.

All participants should go to the Sunset Gate A located off Elysian Park Avenue and Stadium Way.

From there, traffic security will direct you to the appropriate parking lot.
