Chatsworth Man Walks into Police Station, Confesses to Murder
CHATSWORTH, Calif. (KTLA) -- A 52-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he walked into a police station and confessed that he killed his girlfriend.

David Pearson walked into the Topanga Area Community Police Station and told police officers at the front desk that he had killed his girlfriend, LAPD officials said.

Officers found 62-year-old Kristen Hyde dead inside an apartment in the 9200 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Police say it appeared she had been strangled.

Pearson was arrested and was being held on $1 million bail.

A motive in the killing is under investigation.

The Los Angeles Times reports that there have been at least 10 homicides in Chatworth since 2007.
