RANCHO PALOS VERDES -- Los Angeles County Sheriff's detectives released photographs Thursday of a man wanted for breaking into a Rancho Palos Verdes home and stroking the hair of a sleeping teenage girl.

The photos were taken from surveillance video of the man about five hours before the break-in last week at an undisclosed location.

Detectives say the suspect is Latino, between 20 and 25 years old, 5' 10" tall and about 160 pounds. He has dark brown hair and was wearing blue jeans and a hooded sweatshirt with the word " Hollywood" across the front.

The girl woke up as the intruder walked into her bedroom, kneeled next to her bed and began stroking her hair. She screamed and her mother came running. The mother chased the suspect out of the house and called deputies. The girl was not hurt.

The victim, who's name or age hasn't been released, didn't know the man, but detectives believe he may have targeted the teen and that the attack was not random.

The victim's father is outraged and wants the suspect off the streets so that he doesn't attack anyone else.

"He touched her hair; touched her arm; whispered something in her ear; obviously a sexual deviant," he told KTLA.

The girl's father says the suspect whispered "something to the effect that I miss you, I've been waiting to meet you or I want to see you, I've been looking for you."

Anyone with information about the man should contact Detective Chuck Braden at (310) 891-3234.
