Suspected 'Bad Hair Bandit' Arrested in California
AUBURN, Calif. (KTLA) -- A serial bank robber dubbed the "Bad Hair Bandit" has been captured in California, according to FBI officials.

Cynthia Van Holland, 46, is accused in at least 20 bank robberies across California, Montana, Oregon and Washington state since December. Most of the heists occurred in the Puget Sound area of Washington.

Van Holland was arrested Monday along with her getaway driver, 26-year-old Christopher Alonzo, following a bank robbery in Auburn, California, officials said.

FBI officials say in each robbery, the suspect handed the teller a note stating she was armed and wanted cash. She then usually fled in a getaway car.

She earned her nickname because of the bad wigs and hair pieces she wore.

Van Holland and Alonzo are married, and apparently met when she worked as a nurse at an Idaho prison where he was doing time, The Sacramento Bee reports.

Ironically, officials say Van Holland was not wearing a wig in her latest robbery.
