Brush Fire Contained After Threatening Homes in Acton
ACTON, Calif. (KTLA) -- Fire crews have fully contained a 100-acre brush fire near Hubbard Road and Escondido Canyon Road in Acton.

The fire erupted just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday in a sparsely populated area and burned about 52 acres.

It destroyed a small outbuilding, and threatened several other structures. A car was also destroyed.

About 200 firefighters battled the blaze on the ground.

One firefighter was injured, but not seriously.

Four water-dropping helicopters were used to fight the fire from the air.

Fire officials say they believe the fire was started by a short circuit from an oil well.
