Fierce Santa Ana winds rip through Southern Cali

The beach boys wouldn’t write a hit song about just any gust of wind, the Santa Ana winds are living up to their reputation this year.

We’re talking 150-miles per hour through the Sierra Mountains.

The winds blew into southern California uprooting trees, tearing off roofs and knocking buildings to the ground.

Hundreds of thousands of people are without power waiting for the violent winds to die down.

The kids aren’t complaining though, they’re missing school which is rare in the golden state. It’s not like they have snow or hurricanes to worry about it.

Ironically the Santa Ana winds that blow in from the dessert are causing the same kind of damage we see from hurricane winds here in Houston.

Houston might not be getting hurricane winds anytime soon, but we are going to feel a change this weekend.

A strong winter storm is blowing in on Sunday bringing with it rain and freezing temperatures.

We’ve been hearing about Christmas for weeks...maybe it will finally start feeling like it!
