Kenny Lopez brings almost 10 years of experience to WGNO News.
He got his first taste of the TV News Biz while interning for ABC's"Good Morning America." Soon after he landed a job as a News Assistant and Field Producer for WNYW FOX 5 News in The Big Apple.
Will Smith's "I am Legend" and "Spider Man 3". He also appeared in a commercial for Sega's "Destroy All Humans" video game, which aired in Japan.
In his career, he's not only worked in New York City, but Texas, New Mexico, and most recently California.
He worked as a News Reporter for KTXL FOX 40 News in Sacramento, where his investigation on James Sikes Vs. Toyota Prius made national headlines.
Prior to FOX 40, Kenny reported for KVEO-TV's Newscenter 23 in Brownsville, TX. While in Brownsville, Kenny did an undercover piece busting a notorious "Craigslist" Callgirl.
He even swam the Rio Grande River to show dangers immigrants face when crossing illegally into the United States from Mexico.
He also covered both Hurricane Dolly and Ike for KVEO.
Kenny started his reporting career at KBIM-TV in Roswell, New Mexico. (Land of aliens and UFO's), where he was a One-Man Band Reporter. He won multiple Associated Press Awards for his work in NM.
Kenny is a member of The Writer's Guild of America East.
In 2007, Kenny first visited New Orleans for Mardi Gras after Hurricane Katrina. Since then, he's always loved the spirit and energy of the people living here, as well as the delicious "soul food". These are the main reasons he's now proud to be part of your New Orleans family.
