The Goodman Theatre has announced the creative team for its upcoming production of "The Jungle Book," the musical stage adaptation by Mary Zimmerman based on the 1967 Disney movie and the stories by Rudyard Kipling.
In addition to Zimmerman, "Jungle Book" will have music direction by Doug Peck, choreography by Christopher Gattelli, a set design by Daniel Ostling and lighting by T.J. Gerckens, and costumes by Mara Blumenfeld. Composer Richard M. Sherman, who wrote the music for movie, is contributing songs. The show has its world premiere this summer at the Goodman (June 21 to July 28; tickets now on sale goodmantheatre.org), then moves to Boston’s Huntington Theatre Company for the fall. Casting has yet to be announced.
