ANDRADE - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Andrade Port of Entry found 38 pounds of cocaine hidden under a vehicle’s rear seat early Monday.
Around 6:30 a.m., a CBP officer referred a white 2004 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck for further examination and then found 16 wrapped packages of cocaine hidden in a non-factory compartment under the truck’s rear seat.
The drugs are estimated to have a street value of about $456,000. The driver, a 22-year-old U.S. citizen of Somerton, Ariz., was arrested and transported to Imperial County Jail. CBP seized the truck and drugs.
