STANFORD — The tiniest royals of the Lincoln County Fair took their bows on the stage of the Stuart Underwood Auditorium Saturday evening, as Allisyn Piper Middleton and Price Aaron Smith walked away with the 2013 Tiny Tots titles.
The contest, which had been postponed from Thursday due to a rainout, drew a field of 12 three-year-old and four-year-old girl and boy contestants, and Piper and Price were deemed by the judges as the top candidates on stage.
The Tiny Tots competition was divided into two different divisions with both a girls’ winner and a boys’ winner chosen.
Contestants were judged onstage in interview, appearance and poise.
Piper, 3, is the daughter of Zachary and Leah Middleton of Stanford and Price, also 3, is the son of Jeremy Smith and Genna Wethington Smith of Hustonville.
During their onstage interviews, each of the couples revealed a little bit about themselves to the judges. Piper said she liked to play dress up with her mommy and her favorite toy was her doll, Sophia. In Price’s interview, he revealed he liked trains, big trucks, going to church, swimming fishing with his daddy, tractors and playing with his brother and sister. He said his favorite song was “Boys ‘Round Here” by Blake Shelton.
As the Tiny Tots winners, Piper and Price each received a cash award, a trophy and a sash. The 2012 Tiny Tots girls winner, Kerrington Stamper, made the presentation of awards. Piper received a crown as the girls’ Tiny Tot winner while Price received a medallion.
Victoria Lynn Brown, 4 was the first runner-up in the girls’ competition. She is the daughter of Eric and Natasha Brown of Kings Mountain. Her hobbies are gymnastics, tumbling, dancing, singing and playing her guitar, swimming, playing dress-up with her cousins and doing pageants.
The first runner-up in the boys’ competition was Hayden Keith Middleton, 4, of Stanford. Hayden, the son of Zachary and Leah Middleton, listed playing and singing about Jesus as his favorite hobbies. He also said he loves to play with his train set.
Emcee for the Tiny Tots’ contest was Sheila Underwood. Assisting the contestants on stage were 2013 Miss Lincoln County Allison Newman, 2013 Miss Teen Kendra Smith and 2013 Miss Pre-Teen Chesnie Caldwell.
Other competitors in the Tiny Tots pageant were: Chloe Jasmine Boyle, 4, daughter of Josh and Tina Boyle, Stanford; Molly Brianne Smith, 3, daughter of Ben Smith and Louanne Bottom, Stanford; Aubree Caldwell, 4, daughter of Brittany and Dionte Caldwell, Stanford; Jesse Elizabeth Friend, 3, daughter of John David and Mary Benton Friend, Stanford; Logan Stewart Allen, 3, son of Phillip and Jessica Allen, Stanford; Alexia Grace Gaddis, 4, daughter of Jennifer Fox and Lee Gaddis, Stanford; Hadley Spoonamore, 3, daughter of Street and Erica Spoonamore, Hustonville; and Hudson Spoonamore, 3, son of Street and Erica Spoonamore, Hustonville.
All contestants in the Tiny Tots competition received a participation trophy.
