A special fund-raising event for autistic and epileptic Stanford boy Nelson Martin will be held 11 a.m.- 7 p.m. March 23 at L&N Depot. The event will feature a bake sale, chili supper and silent auction. Nelson Martin's family is attempting to raise $13,000 so that the non-profit organization 4 Paws for Ability will provide a therapeutic service dog. The dog will be able to detect seizures before they are outwardly visible and help Nelson control his behavior better. Race for a Cure
The annual American Cancer Society Race for a Cure 5K Race/3K Walk will be held Saturday, April 6 starting at 9 a.m. on Main Street in Stanford. Pre-registration on the day of the race starts at 8 a.m. Early registration fee (before March 29) is $20; late registration fee (March 30 - race day) is $25. Submit your name, address, phone number, Relay team you will be representing (if applicable), birthdate and T-shirt size to Charlotte Kirkpatrick. Special evening of singing at Grace Fellowship
This Sunday evening, March 17, Grace Fellowship Church will be having a special evening of singing, beginning at 6 p.m. Worship leader Jason Coulter will be leading this event which will include a variety of music styles and singers. Invite your friends and family for an evening of blessings through praise and worship. Grace Fellowship is located on Hwy 27, just one mile south of Lincoln County High School.
Waynesburg Red Hat Society
The Waynesburg Red Hat Society will have its spring meeting Monday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at Ruckel's Restaurant off Hwy. 70 in Eubank. We are trying a new monthly schedule, so it will be held on the third Monday this month.
Blood drive scheduled
A blood drive will be held Thursday, March 21 from 1 to 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the Stanford Presbyterian Church, 213 E. Main Street. Blood donors must have a photo I.D., be 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and meet additional requirements. Lincoln County Farmers Market Membership meeting
The Lincoln County Farmers Market will hold its annual membership meeting on Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 PM at the Lincoln County Extension Office.
