Brad Snyder wants to walk the eight blocks from his home in Baltimore to his swimming pool, he must allow 45 minutes of stressful, highly focused steps with a white cane. The first time Brad tried a walk with a Fidelco Foundation-trained German Shepherd, he made it four blocks in a breezy ten minutes. Cutting daily travel time in half is just one of the independence-improving measures that Snyder looks forward to when he makes the transition to a full-time guide dog later this month.

    A cat may have nine lives but "Unique", a 4 year old German Sheppard Guide Dog has a least two. "The dog is a hero," said neighbor Bernardine Stolp. It was a close call but there is good news from the charred and burned out mess in Manchester. Last night's storms sent a lightning bolt straight on top of Bill Podolny's house on Butternut road.
