'Hike for Hope' Honors Those with Bile Duct Cancer

A Connecticut family has spearheaded the 4th Annual "Hike for Hope" to raise awareness and research funding for bile duct cancer. Phil Schaller, of Ivoryton, is a survivor.  His family organized the event to honor him and also those who lost their battle with this rare and aggressive cancer.  They walk for two local men, Bill Whaley of Deep River and David Hyde of Essex, but they also recently made a poignant connection, across the county.  They learned of a Burbank, California boy, Christopher Wilke, the second known youth to fight this illness.  He passed away in March at the age of 12.  Money raised at the hike will help his family pay the medical...
