Terry Irwin addresses Rotary Club
Waste Management in Frederick County, Md., where he oversaw several large-scale utility projects. He earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering technology from Fairmont State College and received a master’s degree in civil engineering from West Virginia University. The project liaison position, which will continue to support efforts to provide residents and businesses with improve communication and customer service, was created in December 2012 through the county’s restructuring plan.
NHHS class of 1968 plans reunion
The North Hagerstown High School Class of 1968 will have a 45-year reunion weekend Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20. On July 19, class members will get reacquainted at the AMVETS on Frederick Street from 7 to 11 p.m. No reservations are required. Snacks and a cash bar will be available. The restaurant in open until 8 p.m. for those who want to eat dinner there. On July 20, classmates will meet at American Legion Post 42 on Northern Avenue from 6 p.m. until midnight. A light menu will be served, prizes will be awarded and a cash bar will be available. Reservations are required for Saturday night and are due by Monday, July 1. VBS set at Longmeadow Church of the Brethren
Vacation Bible School will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 22, to Wednesday, July 24, at Longmeadow Church of the Brethren, 19642 Longmeadow Road. Registration deadline is Sunday, July 14. Classes are available for ages 3 years to children who have completed fifth grade.

TOPS (Taking off Pounds Sensibly) Md. 0077 reported total losses of 27 1/2 pounds for the week. The best TOPS losers were Elsie Horst and Patsy Martin. The best KOPS losers were Darla Hartley and Dorothy Smith. The no-no snack for the week is cookies.
