McDonald's awards scholarships to six students in Washington County

The Washington County winners were Colby Poffenberger of Clear Spring High School, Brian Weyant of Williams-port High, Tanner Faith of Hancock Middle-Senior High School, Nathaniel Parchment of North Hagerstown High, Christopher Resh of Clear Spring High and Conner Troxell of North High.
Resh was awarded a $5,000 scholarship.
More than 500 applications were received and reviewed by a panel of judges that included Greater Washington, D.C., McDonald’s owners and operators.
Sholarships in the amounts of $5,000 or $1,500 were awarded and will go directly to the college or university the student plans to attend in the fall.
This year, McDonald’s is giving away 60 scholarships throughout the Greater Washington, D.C., area, totaling $105,000.
The 23 regional high school seniors received nearly $40,000 in college scholarships.
