Mary Louise (Horst) Horst, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., died at 11:56 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Mennonite Fellowship Home in Hagerstown.
Born Feb. 15, 1929, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin B. and Martha (Lehman) Horst.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Mennonite Church in Maugansville, Md.
Surviving family are three daughters, Martha Ann Strite and husband, Mark, of Clear Spring, Md., Ella Rose Horst and husband, Harold, of Greencastle, and Thelma Jean Martin and husband, Duane, of Hagerstown; one son, Eldon Horst and wife, Joyce, of Harrisonburg, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Lauren Horst of Greencastle, Maurice Horst of Chambersburg, Pa., David Amos Horst of New York, Glenn Horst of Stephens City, Va., and Lowell Horst of Middletown, Pa.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Nevin Horst; and by one sister, Sarah Martin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, at 10 a.m. from Mount Olive Mennonite Church of Maugansville, with the Mount Olive Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church and Wednesday one hour before the service at the church.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be given to Mennonite Air Missions, c/o Mark Strite, treasurer, Mount Olive Mennonite Church, 13416 Clear Spring Road, Clear Spring, MD 21722.
