Marjorie I. Lucassen, 84, of Smithsburg, Md., went to be with her lord and savior on Sunday, July 14, 2013, from her home.
Born Jan. 14, 1929, in Capon Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Joshua and Gertrude (Orndorff) Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. “Bud” Lucassen, on Nov. 24, 2011.
She attended Musselman High School.
She was employed over the years by National Fruit Co., Musselman Fruit Co., Two Guys, Robert Halls and Optic Binder Book Co. of Baltimore.
She is survived by one son, James H. “Jim” Jenkins Jr. and wife, Virginia, of Boonsboro, Md.; three daughters, Sue Mariano of Severn, Md., Nancy Winters and husband, Allen, of Glen Burnie, Md., and Helen Snyder and husband, Jim “Otis,” of Lanham, Md.; two sisters, Hilda Faircloth and Virgie Dellinger, both of Winchester, Va.; one brother, Winifred Elliott of Winchester; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Vonnie K. Jenkins; three sisters, Mary Leonard, Rosealee Elliott and Charlotte Triggs; and four brothers, William, Phil, Frank and Harry Elliott.
Services will be Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 10 a.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, with the Revs. David Palmer and Mark Unger officiating. A graveside service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Baltimore City.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
