Mrs. JoAnn Brubaker White, 69, of Warfordsburg, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. White, of 51 years.
Born Feb. 3, 1943, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Monroe W. Brubaker and the late Thelma Grams Brubaker Wolfe. She graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1961. She was employed by Sharpe’s Florist and then become part owner of Woodsboro Florist before retiring.
JoAnn is survived by her three devoted children, Terri L. Walker of Hagerstown, Md., Robert E. White and wife, Melissa, of Jefferson, Md. and Dawn M. Lucier and husband, Donald “Lee”, of Clearwater, Fla.; a son-in-law, Gerald L. “Booty” Walker of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Heather Webber and husband, Michael, Kristina Hughes and husband Evan, Brooke Hagenbuch and husband Sean, Dallas White, Danielle White and Destanie Lucier; two great-granddaughters, Mikayla Webber and Makynna Webber. She is also survived by one brother, John Brubaker and partner, Kenny Gissi, of Cresaptown, Md.; three sisters, Doreen Forrest and husband, Leroy, of Frederick, Susan Brubaker of Cresaptown, and Gloria “Jeani” Sechler of Saxis, Va.; a brother-in-law, Charles “Butch” White and wife, Carol, of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by two special family friends, John L. Goshorn and Denitia Booth.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy (U.S. 15 N), Frederick, where funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Veterans Garden of Honor I at Resthaven. Pallbearers will be John Brubaker, Gerald Walker Jr., Donald Lucier, Michael Webber, Evan Hughes and John Goshorn. Floral tributes are welcome, or donations in JoAnn’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army.
