Isaac Lee "Ike" Johnson Sr., 77, of Twin Springs Drive, Chewsville, Md., passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at his home.
Born Oct. 29, 1935, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Howard Lee and Carrie Amelia (Cole) Johnson.
He retired in 2003 from the City of Hagerstown Water Dept. after serving over 25 years.
He was a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church of Hagerstown and the Eagles Club of Hagerstown and was a life member of North American Rod and Gun Club of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ida M. (Seaton) Johnson, whom he married Feb. 3, 1958; daughters, Tammy Jones and husband, Jeffery, of Martinsburg, Tina Jenkins and husband, Mark, of Waynesboro, Pa., and Teresa Rossiter and husband, Timothy, of Funkstown; sons, Isaac Johnson Jr. and fiancée, Charlene Souders, of Chewsville and Troy Johnson of Hagerstown; brother, Gary Johnson of Smithsburg; sisters, Shirley Meyers of Hagerstown and Rose Bowser of Funkstown, sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Richard Pepple of Smithsburg; grandchildren, David Rowe, Sarah Jenkins, Brittany Jones, Jacob Johnson, Jessica Jones, Catherine Johnson, Stephanie Rossiter, Lindsey Jones and Samantha Rossiter; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Earl Johnson and one granddaughter, Vanessa Jenkins.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Greenbrier Baptist Church, Hagerstown, Md., with Pastor George Snyder officiating.
