Ida G. (Shank) Frey, 91, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at her residence, The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus.
Born July 7, 1921, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Ida (Grove) Shank.
Ida was the wife of the late J. Melvin Frey, who passed away in June 1984; and also the wife of the late Irvin M. Frey, who passed away in March 2008.
She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. One of her fondest memories was of being a member of the Menno Haven Ladies Auxiliary while she was living in Chambersburg, Pa.
Ida was of the Mennonite faith.
She is survived by her children, Don E. Frey, husband of Sandra, and Donna M., wife of Dr. Wael Jarjour of Columbus; and four grandchildren, Sherry Frey Lapp and Michael S. Frey of Lancaster, and Nicholas N. and Alexander B. Jarjour of Columbus.
Ida was preceded in death by brothers, Clinton, Floyd and Glenn Shank; and sisters, Evarella Eshelman and Violet Burkholder.
A memorial service will be Sunday April 21, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, 13343 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa., with Pastor H. Wesley Boyer officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday one hour before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ida's name to Odyssey Hospice, 540 Office Center Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230.
