A Hagerstown woman who was injured in a traffic accident Monday was listed in critical condition Tuesday at Meritus Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Tiffany Souders, 21, of Wayne Avenue, was injured shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, when the 1998 Honda Civic that she was driving on Md. 66 near the intersection of Pondsville Road collided head-on with a pickup truck, Maryland State Police 1st Sgt. Kevin Lewis said.
The Civic was traveling south on Md. 66, which is Mapleville Road, when it swerved to miss another vehicle that was stopped in the roadway preparing to make a turn, Lewis said.
He said the Civic crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2006 Toyota Tacoma being driven by Craig Morgan, 50, of Jefferson, Md.
Lewis said Morgan and Souders, who were the only occupants in the vehicles, were taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center.
Morgan was not listed as a patient at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said in an email.
