The capsule is filled with letters the girls wrote to themselves, patches, a 100th anniversary Girl Scout flag, empty Girl Scout Tagalong cookie box and other mementos from the girls.
The troop leaders, Fran Gabianelli, Shawn Bryce and Jen Keller, would like to thank Principal Jennifer Scarberry-Price and past Principal Beth Allshouse for allowing the girls to have their meetings at the school and for allowing them to bury the capsule.
The girls were treated to a recent visit by Miss Washington County Outstanding Teen Taylor Ammons. Her platform is “Music Can Make a Difference,” and she worked on a music badge with the girls. The girls made a donation to her “Every Kid Deserves a Teddy Bear” project.
