Charles Byron Daniels, 82, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away at his home on Thursday, July 21, 2011.
Born Sept. 19, 1928, in Amend, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles William and Goldie Marguerite (Early) Daniels.
U.S. Air Force. He also worked and retired from the Berkeley County school board and Martinsburg City Police Department. Charles was a member of the Martinsburg Elks, Masonic Order 889, American Legion 202 and the Steel City Mafia. He enjoyed playing golf and cheering on his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Charles is preceded in death by this loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Elaine Daniels.
Charles will be sadly missed by his five children, Kimberly Knight and her husband, Ron, Melonee Rogers, Christian Daniels, Jeffrey Daniels and his committed partner, Terri Murphy, and Cassandra Griffith and her husband, Scott; one sister, Marlene Johnson, and her husband, Chuck; nine grandchildren, Shea Allyn Rogers, Rebecca Lynne Liggitt, Jessica Lynn Pike, Joshua Allan Daniels, Colin Daniel Knight, Amy Leigh Daniels, Lesli Anne Daniels, Justin Albert Knight and Chad Ridings Griffith; and10 great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home on Sunday.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 25, 2011, at Rosedale Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jack Rudy officiating.
Internment will follow with full military honors at Rosedale Cemetery.
