Boy Scout Troop 108 will hold a spaghetti dinner Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Ringgold Ruritan Building on Windy Haven Road in Smithsburg.
The menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, roll, drink and desserts. There will also be a bake sale and carryout will be available.
Food drive continues
Allegany Dental Care is helping Boy Scout Troop 66 at First Christian Church in Hagerstown with its "Scouting for Food" drive.
Food donations will go to the Parent Child Center in Hagerstown.
Residents can drop off nonperishable food items at one of Allegany's three offices: 19418 Leitersburg Pike, 22109 Jefferson Blvd., or 17719 Virginia Ave. The offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Items will be accepted until Nov. 4.
Cascade Elementary named its Good Citizens of the Month of September. The students were honored Sept. 15 during lunch for displaying the character trait of caring.

The first Scholastic book fair of the school year will start today and run through Nov. 4.
Area captain visits Smithsburg TOPS chapter
Area Captain Parilee Barber was the guest speaker at the Smithsburg TOPS, or Take Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 0462 meeting last week.
Barber gave a presentation on "Smart Foods." She said the darker the food, the better it is for you.
She said darker foods are loaded with lots of vitamins.
The chapter also welcome two visitors, Bob and Linda, who plan to join this week.
