A Boonsboro woman is facing child abuse charges after her 8-month-old daughter suffered fractures to both arms and legs, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Stacey Renee Reese, 25, of 7821 Sharpsburg Pike, has been charged with first-degree child abuse resulting in serious physical injury, second-degree child abuse, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, neglect of a minor and reckless endangerment, according to a news release from sheriff’s department spokeswoman Carly Hose.
Reese was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon on $125,000 bond, officials said.
Reese’s daughter was taken to Meritus Medical Center last Friday for a possible broken arm, Hose said. In addition to the injury to the right arm, the baby had numerous bruises on her body, Hose said.
The child was transported to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., for further treatment, Hose said.
While at Children’s National Medical Center, it was determined the child suffered fractures to both arms and legs, Hose said.
The child is still being treated at Children’s National Medical Center, Hose said Tuesday.
