Hagerstown Day Nursery will hold a Longaberger/Vera Bradley bingo event Sunday, April 14, at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown.
Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door for 25 games and a meal.
Proceeds will go to Hagerstown Day Nursery, a nonprofit child-development center.

Gallery Quartet to perform April 7
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present the Gallery Quartet, now in its 36th season at the museum, in a chamber music concert Sunday, April 7, at 2:30 p.m. A reception, hosted by members of the museum’s volunteer organization, the Singer Society, will follow the recital.
The performance is sponsored in part by Pierre Berry and is a ticketed event. Tickets cost $5 for nonmembers and are free for members and those ages 12 and younger.
Easter Saturday celebration set
The community is invited to the Easter Saturday celebration at St. John’s Lutheran Church Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event will include an Easter story for children, plus games, crafts and a light lunch.
There will be an Easter egg hunt for children in fifth grade and younger.
The church is at 141 S. Potomac St., across from the library in downtown Hagerstown.

Pet adoptions offered at shelter
The Humane Society of Washington County is hoping to increase adoptions through its March Madness adoption campaign this month.
All adoptable dogs and cats will be available for adoption at half off the normal adoption fee. The adoption fee for dogs will be $75 and $35.50 for cats.
The adoption fee for dogs includes spaying/neutering; distemper, bordatella and rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment and microchipping.
Additionally, each dog will receive a free ID tag, one month of free pet insurance and an examination by a participating Washington County veterinarian.
The cat adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, feline leukemia/FIV testing, distemper and rabies vaccinations, de-worming, microchipping and flea treatment.

The shelter is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the adoption floor opening at 10 a.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the adoption floor opening at 10 a.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the adoption floor opening at 10 a.m.
