  7. READER SUBMITTED: Lt. Gov. Wyman Visits Growing Business LSC Distribution

Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman experienced the innovative function and design of Solidea brand compression wear during her visit to LSC Distribution in Hartford on Thursday. LSC Distribution was recognized as a growing woman-owned business that has received assistance to expand and create jobs through the state’s Small Business Express (EXP) program. Owner Susan Callison received a $150,000 loan and line of credit combination from the program and has doubled her sales each year. Callison, herself a cancer survivor affected by lymphedema, recognized a business opportunity after discovering the Solidea Therapeutic Sleeve available only in Italy.  The sleeve adds a modern twist which is more effective, comfortable and attractive than those offered in the United States. She launched the Lymphedema Sleeve Company, presently known as LSC Distribution, in 2010 and is presently the sole U.S. distributor of Solidea Compression garments. LSC offers leg hosiery, briefs, bike shorts, capris, leggings, abdominal bands, arm sleeves, joint support bands, maternity hosiery, and medical garments.
