1. Waterless Toiletries For Your Emergency Kit

Having canned food, water, batteries and flashlights, are great for any emergency "go kit" but having the right toiletries on hand can make a difference when dealing with power outages and no water. Since many hi rise buildings use electricity to pump water to higher floors, losing electricity can mean days without water.

  15. Peel Away Wrinkles, Acne, & Sun Spots

After a few weeks in the mountains, I'm back with this week's addition of Beauty Breakthroughs! And I have to say, as much as I can complain about the heat and humidity here, I was grateful for at least our humidity while in Colorado. My skin felt 10 years older and so much drier, despite all the moisturizer! So while it may wreak havoc on our hair, there's a reason Southern women look so much younger than the rest of the country. :)

  17. Legacy of Mischief: Adrenalin O.D. in Danbury on June 4th

Ordinarily, someone threatening to “bury [you and your band] up to your necks and run [you] over with a lawnmower” is a bad thing, but for Adrenalin O.D., that spirited bile probably made for the grandest of compliments. Formed in 1981, they were one of the first New Jersey hardcore-punk acts — if not the first — and rabble-rousers in a still-developing subculture. AOD's cheeky, apolitical approach to the genre was the antithesis to other old-school hardcore bands like Sick Of It All, Biohazard and Sheer Terror. (Paul Bearer, vocalist for the latter, apparently said the lawnmower comment, which was relayed to AOD through a friend.) “The macho aspect probably made those people look at us like we were just a joke. Then again, look at our album covers. Look at Humungusfungusamongus. We're wearing the most ridiculous clothing and everybody else in the hardcore scene has got cut-off shirts and tattoos and muscles,” says AOD drummer Dave Scott, referencing a 1986 record that depicts half the band in what looks like nightgowns or pajamas. “At least we got under somebody's skin. Whatever we did worked.”
